2D Animator

Job Description

We’re looking for a talented 2D Animation Artist, responsible for creating realistic and highly stylized animations for a new mobile game that will be played by millions of people around the world.  In this role, you will be working in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment with some of the most creative minds in the industry. As a 2D Game Animator, you will be working closely with Artists and Engineers to bring game items (such as characters, backgrounds and game assets) to life in a 2-Dimension game environment. Alongside our games, you will be growing as an artist and as a team.

Responsibilities

  • Creating 2D animations for stylized characters and items
  • Create animations and effects for UI elements and game assets, including icons, pop-ups, buttons, backgrounds, and menus
  • Collaborating with the engineering and technical artistry team in order to create 2D Particle FX in Unity 
  • Editing animated assets in Unity and Spine
  • Working together with the team to envision and iterate animations
  • Growing and fostering a user-oriented design culture

Requirements

  • Experience with bone and spritesheet animation style (especially using Spine)
  • Familiarity with graphic design, fine arts, illustration, or visual arts
  • Good knowledge of digital visualization tools (i.e. Spine, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Unity work experience or ability to undergo Unity training. Knowledge in writing shaders and scripts in Unity is a big plus.
  • Basic skills necessary to make modifications of game assets
  • Knowledge of processes, pipelines, and best practices for 2D animation production
  • A keen eye for color harmonies, lighting, perspective, and materials
  • Process and methods for optimizing assets for mobile device
